Welcome to ATLC!

 The Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp, a county-wide drug prevention program, develops adolescent leaders who encourage Aroostook County teens in grades 6-9 to be drug-free through a residential summer camp and follow-up activities during the school year.

STAYING INVOLVED

If you want to stay involved with ATLC during the next program year (beginning July 1st), you can by joining a committee or the Weekend Team. Just e-mail Jack @ jfoster@amhc.org before July 1st stating what you want to be on! You will be able to attend the Reunion in November and the Bi-Monthly Outings!

DYSLEXIA WALK-A-THON

Dyslexia is a language -processing disorder that occurs in about 15% of young people, and causes learning problems. ATLC has been asked by the Masonic Order in Aroostook County to assist them with their Dyslexia Walk-a-thon on September 13th in Presque Isle. Money raised from the Walk-a-thon goes to support the Dyslexia Treatment Center in Bangor, the closest Center to Aroostook County. You can help raise money for this Center by participating in the Walk-a-thon. More details will be sent to schools in August when school starts!

BIG CHEESE PIZZA/MOVIE GALLERY ATLC FUND-RAISERS

Both the Movie Gallery and Big Cheese Pizza businesses in Caribou held fund-raisers for ATLC in May. Thanks to both businesses - we hope you'll support them if you live in the area!

ATLC GRADUATES!!

Congratulations to Autumn Condon (Ashland), Dusty Graham (Presque Isle), Katelynn Hartt (Presque Isle), and Felicia Moss (Fort Kent) who have graduated from high school! Best wishes for a healthy and positive future!! Hope we didn't miss anyone.

NEXT ATLC OUTING

The next Outing will be a "Disc Golf Outing" at Enman's Disc Golf Course on Route 1 in Caribou, right near the Caribou Inn & Convention Center. Date/time of the Outing is Sunday, August 23rd, 1-3 PM. Registration "stuff" will be mailed out at the beginning of August!

CANCELLATION CORNER

Always check here before leaving for any ATLC meeting or activity during the winter months if weather or travel conditions are questionable. If a meeting or activity will be cancelled, a notice will usually be posted here the night before by 7 PM.
